review from

This unique recording brings together musicians from North & South India, Pakistan, and Afghanistan (ALL of which was once a unified INDIA might I add) in an amazingly classically inspired collaboration with Western artists.

A coming together of DJ Science (done brilliantly by Chebi) and Ragas, sung and played by Hindu and Muslim musicians alike. I say brilliant because Chebi doesn't do anything drastic or overt to the original characteristic and purity of each raga, rather accentuating and bolstering what's already inherently divine music.

This project is especially notable for being one of the last recordings of the great Ustad Salamat Ali Khan who passed away in July. His sons accompany him ably on their respective tracks with sublime sarangi and tabla provided by Sultan Khan and Tari Khan. It's a shame that the Hindus and Muslims who continue to war with each other today in the sub-continent couldn't learn a lesson in tolerance from this gem of a CD.
